1. Miracle [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Folks who really like Miracle will want to pursue this Blu-ray. I wasn’t particularly impressed by the picture and audio of the 2004 DVD, but both showed nice improvements here. With a list price of $34.99, it’s not a cheap upgrade, but I think it’s worth it for fans. Starring Kurt Russell, Patricia Clarkson. Disney, $34.99, 6/16/2009.

2. Miracle (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although the topic naturally lends itself to drama, Miracle tries too hard to force us to feel certain emotions. It lacks depth and comes across as a thin and superficial feel-good flick that fails to deliver any real power. Starring Kurt Russell, Patricia Clarkson. Disney, $29.99, 5/18/2004.

4. Whatever Works [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With the presence of kindred spirit Larry David in the lead role, I had hopes that Woody Allen would create a vibrant, biting comedy with Whatever Works. Instead, I found more of the usual arrogant, condescending claptrap devoid of more than one or two minor laughs. The Blu-ray provides decent picture, mediocre audio and virtually no supplements. 5. Jonathan [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a film, Jonathan feels like a concept expanded to feature length. The movie fails to explore its characters or themes in a compelling manner, so it feels superficial and forgettable. Starring Ansel Elgort, Suki Waterhouse. Well Go, $29.98, 1/15/2019.

6. The Star [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Thanks to a surprisingly strong cast, The Star offers decent amusement, and at times, its irreverent tones succeeds. However, its comedic elements often feel forced, and a lack of narrative clarity becomes an issue. Starring Steven Yeun, Gina Rodriguez. Sony, $34.99, 2/20/2018.

The movie entertains to a moderate degree, but it doesn’t provide a particularly strong cinematic experience ... The quality of this release supports the film pretty well, but it’s not a great flick ... A purse-strings note: you can buy The Dead Pool on its own or as part of

I can’t say he did so in grand fashion, as Harry doesn’t provide stellar filmmaking but it does act as a reasonably compelling action drama. Starring Clint Eastwood, Harry Guardino. Warner, $19.98, 6/3/2008.
